This small and cosy café is run by our family and we are passionate about fish. Our family padre Vladislav is famous TV-host and well-known fisherman and chef. His son Kaarel has learned everything about fish from him and is Kalambuur's headchef. The ladies of the Koržets family are also included Kalambuurs everyday life.
Clams or Baltic herring, caviar or pike perch, sturgeon or whitefish – first and foremost, you'll be served mainly local fish dishes. The menu also includes some fish-free meals, in order to create a perfect combination of flavours.
Vladislav, good-natured owner with a wonderful sense of humour, has found the best possible name for the café through play on words: fish in Estonian is kala, which is served at the café, and kalambuur is a pun, that is also a frequent occurrence here.
Location and rooms
Kalambuur's unique cottage is situated in a quiet corner of the (Hirve)park next to the old town wall.
